Hearing loss is a partial or complete inability to hear. The loss of hearing may occur at birth or can develop gradually over time due to one or more factors in a person’s life such as noise exposure, wax in the ear canals, stress, grinding of teeth, high blood pressure, natural blood flow to the ear, and trauma to the head or ears. Age-related hearing loss usually affects both ears and can result in loneliness.
The first step in trying to figure out what is causing any type of hearing loss is with full diagnostic hearing testing.
